Awards

I. Scholarships:

  • Grado de Honor: i) it is the highest distinction awarded to an undegraduate student by Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Summa Cum Laude degree equivalent). It consists of ii) a full graduate scholarship in tuition fees and living expenses to study either a master or a doctorate (called Beca de Posgrado) and iii) an automatic admision to study any graduate program at Universidad Nacional de Colombia (I was admitted to the M.A. in Political Studies and the M.A. in Philosophy; I declined the latter). It is awarded to those students who have been recipient of the scholarship “Exención de Pago de Matricula” for each semester at college. (March 2017). i-ii) link and iii) link.   • Exención de Pago de Matrícula: a full semester fee scholarship awarded to the 38 students (regardless of the semester) with the highest CGPA for the 2016-2 academic semester. Ranked 19th out of (approx.) 830 at Law School. (December 2016). Link

  • Exención de Pago de Matrícula: a full semester fee scholarship awarded to the 32 students (regardless of the semester) with the highest CGPA for the 2015-2 academic semester. Ranked 19th out of (approx.) 830 at Law School. (January 2016). Link.

  • Matrícula de Honor: a full semester fee scholarship awarded to the 2 best students (regardless of the semester) with the highest CGPA for the 2013-2 academic semester. Ranked 2nd out of (approx.) 830 at Law School. (March 2014). Link.
  • Matrícula de Honor: a full semester fee scholarship awarded to the best students for the 2012-1 academic semester. It was awarded to 10 students out of (approx.) 900. (August 2012). Link.
  • Matrícula de Honor: a full semester fee scholarship awarded to the best students for the 2011-2 academic semester. It was awarded to 10 students out of (approx.) 900. (April 2012). Link.
  • Media Matrícula de Honor: a half semester fee scholarship awarded to the second and third best students for the 2010-2 academic semester. It was awarded to 20 students out of (approx.) 900. (March 2011). Link.

II. Honors:

  • Ranked first in graduating class: 1st out of 60. (March 2017). Link.

  • Member of the Programa Semillero de Talentos de Colfuturo. (August 2016). Link.
  • Teaching Assistant (Monitor Académico) of the course Sistemas de Derecho (History of Law). A distintion awarded to the best students of the university, to assist professors in teaching or researching (Mar. 2016 [official appointment in April] – June). Link.
  • Portador de los Clavos como Segundo Mejor Estudiante de la Universidad del Cauca: a distinction awarded to the two students with the best semestral GPA at the University regardless of the semester (Ranked 2nd out of approx. 10000 students). It consists of carrying the Jesus Christ’s Holy Nails throughout Popayán ancient streets on Good Friday during Holy Week processions, a parade declared one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO.
